DC Kohima on use of commercial LPG
Kohima: Kohima DC, Bei-u Angami, has directed all hotels, restaurants, canteens, hostels, bakeries and other commercial establishments to use commercial LPG cylinders only and not domestic LPG cylinders. The DC cautioned that stern action would be taken against defaulters if caught during time of checking.
Zbto science seminar postponed
DIMAPUR: The district level science seminar in Zunheboto scheduled on August 12 has postponed to August 20.
Tuensang DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: The monthly district panning and development board (DPDB) Tuensang district has been convened on August 6, 11 am at conference hall DC, Tuensang. All members have been requested to submit schemes/projects under LADP 2010-11 to DC’s office for finalization and submission to government before August 3. All ministers, parliamentary secretaries, MLA’s, and head of departments, officer members of DPDB have been requested to attend the meeting.
LCPHCW crusade
DIMAPUR: Lothatsu Christian prayer cum healing centre Wokha, would be organizing spiritual revival crusade on July 24 and 25 at New Life Bible College.
Training for NCSC
KOHIMA: Nagaland Institute of Health Environment & Social Welfare (NIHESW) Kohima will be organizing state level resource person’s training on National Children’s Science Congress on focal theme “Land Resources: Use of prosperity, save for posterity for state of Nagaland on July 21,10 am at Kohima Municipal Council Conference hall, near Old MLA Hostel Kohima with Deo Nukhu , advisor science & technology will be the chief guest.
Solo art exhibition
DIMAPUR: A solo art exhibition of painting, sculpture, graphic (print making) by master H Akup Buchem Phom (recipient of governor’s award) would be held from August 4 to 8, 11 am at state academy of music and dance Kohima on the theme “seeing beyond” dedicated to Kazhumo Nodi (first Naga artist). Hekali Zhimomi (IAS) DCO Nagaland would be the chief guest of the inaugural function of the exhibition.
RASU meeting
DIMAPUR: Ralan area student union (RASU) has convened an emergency meeting on July 23, 11 am at the residence of union banker Lotha colony. All the executive members and former RASU leaders have been requested to attend the meeting.
Dimapur Phugi Sumi Hoho public meet
DIMAPUR: The Dimapur Phugi Sumi Hoho has convened a public meet on July 24, at 9am at IMC Hall, Dimapur to discuss matters relating to selection of chairman, Dimapur Phugi Sumi Sub-Hoho (DPSSH). All Sumi GB, colony, village chairman, secretary, public leaders and advisors (DPSSH) to attend the meet.
SNUNS welcomes
DIMAPUR: South Nagas’ Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) has welcomed the unification of GPRN/NSCN and NNC/FGN adding that both the groups have heard the voice of the ongoing Naga reconciliation process. SNUNS general secretary, L. K. Peter Anal said the reconciliation was by “divine power” and not by the power of mankind. Stating that “Nagas are far too few to be divided,” the union appealed to all the leaders of Naga national workers to forgive and forget the past differences to achieve peace, reconciliation and Naga solution at the earliest.
Zeliangrong Baudi (N) meet
DIMAPUR: An emergency executive cum consultative meeting of Zeliangrong Baudi (N) has been convened on July 22 at Jalukie Town Council hall. All Zeliangrong Baudi (N) executive members, circle representatives, advisors, former presidents, Zeliangrong senior leaders, frontal students’ leaders, women leaders, Zeme council (N) Liangmai council(N) Rongmei Council (N) have been requested to attend the meeting.
Aqahuto area bans liquor
DIMAPUR: In a joint meeting held among NGOs under Aqahuto area on July 15, the members resolved to ban liquor, mela shows, gambling, natak shows etc., within its jurisdiction with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Aqahuto Area Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi community council Doyapur, Dimasa women society Doyapur and Doyapur bazaar committee also resolved to ban selling of liquor in and around Doyapur bazaar area. The societies also warned of strict action against defaulters.
AKKH new team
DIMAPUR: Aghunato Tokukujo Kukami Hoho (AKKH) has elected its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2010-15. The team would consist of six office bearers and seven executive committee members to be headed by Khetoi GB Kasuho Yepthomi as president, Kelto GB Khetovi as vice president and Luthsumi GB Aheto as general secretary.
LCC mass social work
DIMAPUR: Residents of Landmark colony (PWD) would be participating in mass social work programme convened by Deputy Commissioner Dimapur on July 21 at 6 am. All residents have been requested to clean their respective compound to keep the colony/city eco-friendly.
ENWO trainees receive diplomas
DIMAPUR: A total of 30 trainees who were sponsored by Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO) to undergo 6 months training at Tabitha Craft and Design, Resource Centre received their diplomas cutting tailoring and handicraft. The trainees received their diploma in a ceremony which was held on 19 July at Resource Centre. Various representatives of ENWO also attended the programme.
Annapurna rice distribution
DIMAPUR: The food and civil supplies Dimapur has informed that Annapurna rice for the month of July of Dimapur district has been released. Beneficiaries have been requested to collect the same from their respective fair price shops from July 22 to 24.
Verification of pensioners in Tseminyu
DIMAPUR: Sub-treasury officer (STO), Tseminyu, O. Imliwati has informed all life and family pensioners drawing pension from sub-treasury office, Tseminyu that physical verification of pensioners would be held from July 28 to 30 in the office chamber of STO during working hours. Pensioners have been requested to appear for verification and those pensioners who have not submitted life certificate form issued by the office have been informed to submit the same duly countersigned by the authorized officer during the period of verification. Detailed programme for verification are life pensioners-July 28, family pensioners- July 29 and life and family pensioners (last day for absentees) - July 30.
Vaccination camp
DIMAPUR: District veterinary and animal husbandry officer Dimapur and principle VFATI Medziphema would be organizing free vaccination camp on July 26, 7 am at veterinary field assistant training institute office compound Medziphema. All animal owners and progressive livestock farmers of Medziphema town have been informed to avail their animal vaccines against various commonly occurring diseases such as Rabbies, foot and mouth disease, Haemorrhagic septicaemia, black quarters etc.
Medical camp
DIMAPUR: NPF Dimapur division will be organizing free medical camp on July 24, 9 am at Aghunaqa village. In this connection, a committee has been constituted with Basu Damani as convener and H. Thong and P.K. Jain as members. People of the area including the surrounding villages have been informed to avail the opportunity as medicines would also be provided free of cost. NPF, Dimapur division president, K. Shilu Sangtam has directed all division office bearers and executive members to participate in the camp.
Science seminer
DIMAPUR: District education officer Dimapur has informed all the schools of both government and private under Dimapur district, that district level science seminar would be held on August 26, under the topic ‘India and world science: Are we there?’. Students of Class V111 to X have been requested to participate in the seminar.
