Pre-harvest festival ‘Tixini’ celebrated

Ghokimi Cultural Club (GCC) celebrated Tixini, pre-harvest festival with much traditional fervor at Ghokimi public ground under Pughoboto Sub-division, Zunheboto district on Wednesday with NPF youth wing president, Kakuto Shohe as chief guest.
In his address, Shohe urged upon the people to foster unity and peace through culture and to move ahead in unity.
He appealed the gathering not to forget their tradition and culture in order to uphold their identity.
On the occasion, Shohe also lauded the DAN government under the leadership of chief minister, Neiphiu Rio for declaring Nagaland as the ‘Land of Festivals’ and also urged the latter for development in the field of culture for maximum exposure.
He also lauded the GCC for participating in several regional, national and international level cultural competitions.
The celebration was chaired by P. Vihoto Shohe while Pastor GBC Vikato Awomi pronouncing the invocation. GB and Village Council Chairman Johan Wotsa gave the welcome address.
One of the attractions of the function was the special appearance of Alito Wotsa, contestant No 18 of a Talent Hunt show.
GB Pukhavi Swu also gave a brief history about the village while GCC President K. Ghunakha Shohe proposed the vote of thanks.
The celebration concluded with Pastor CRC Akhato Sumi pronouncing the benediction.
