Northern Zeme Students (NZS) has demanded immediate cancellation of backdoor appointment of graduate teachers and primary teachers under SSA Peren district within 15 days from the date of submission of the memorandum.
NZS in a letter addressed to DC Peren -cum- chairman district mission authority SSA Peren Khrienuo Metha said, though 57 posts of government teacher and primary teacher for Peren district were created under SSA it was not publicized nor transparency created to people of the district.
NZS expressed dismay that the posts were filled up through backdoor appointment by mission director of SSA and the appointment orders were issued to the applicants allegedly at her residence without any formalities from the department. The student body further stated that two members of one family were also appointed defying the norms of the department where all posts of SSA under Peren district were publicized and necessary written and oral exams were conducted and merit applicants appointed.
It also mentioned that though under communitisation Act, VEC/WEC were empowered to recommend for appointment of teachers in their respective schools, the authority in charge ignored the Act taking power in their own hands.
Seeking the intervention of DC Peren, signatories Gaili Students Union president Ngimdai Haikube and general secretary Iteibambe, Punglwa Students union president Angulie and finance secretary Rampausuipeung, Lamhai Dungki Students Union president Kedigum, Ngwalwa Students Union president Irangbambe and Heningkunglwa Students Union president Sede informed the authority in charge that union would be compelled to take its own course of action and would not be held responsible for any untoward incident.
