Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 18 countries across Asia and Africa, on Friday launched ‘One Airtel One North East’ plan exclusively for its prepaid customers in the region.
Airtel prepaid customers can now roam across Assam and the north east without having to change their SIM cards. Prepaid customers would enjoy the privilege of roaming by default. This facility is available across 200 towns and 18000 villages of the region. The scheme ‘One Airtel One North East’ would operate in Assam and the North East Telecom Circles and remain in effect till January, 2011, as per the Department of Telecommunications, Govt. of India. The outgoing call charges under this plan are Rs 1 per minute for local calls, Rs 1.50 per minute for STD calls and Rs 1 per minute for incoming calls.
This plan has come into effect due to the latest direction provided by DoT. This will enable the customer roaming facility across the region.
