Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland unit Sunday affirmed its decision to observe the BJP-led NDA call for “Bharat Bandh” on July 5, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m, against hike in prices for petroleum and allied products. A press release issued by BJP Nagaland media cell state convenor, Jaangsillung Gonmei informed that only the most essential vehicles belonging to fire brigade, police, military, medical and government sectors would be exempted from the proposed bandh. In this connection, the state BJP unit has urged the general public to understand the gravity of the situation of recent excessive rise in prices and observe the bandh strictly, so as to effectively press the UPA government to realize public hardships at the earliest. The party also requested the public to cooperate with BJP party workers and volunteers, who would be enforcing the bandh for “a genuine social cause,” the statement said.
