DGAR on state visit to review security situation

Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR) Lt Gen K S Yadava, PVSM, AVSM, SM,VSM, DGAR visited IGAR (North) to review the security situation in Nagaland. The DGAR was accompanied by Meenakshi Yadava President, ARWWA. They were received by Maj Gen Sandeep Singh,SM,VSM,IGAR (N) and Yashmi Singh at the Sentinel Mess and were accorded traditional welcome. DGAR was briefed on security situation in the State by Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM,VSM,IGAR (N).
General Officer also stressed on the need for synergy of efforts at all levels.
Meenakshi Yadava President, ARWWA attended ARWWA meet organized at Karim Hall and she was received by Yashmi Singh President ARWWA IGAR (N). Meenakshi Yadava also interacted with the families and enquired about their welfare. DGAR, Meenakshi Yadava accompanied by Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM,VSM, IGAR (N) and Yashmi Singh paid courtesy visit to state governor Nikhil Kumar, Kohima at Raj Bhavan. DGAR and President ARWWA also attended Dinner organized at Officer’s Mess IGAR (N) in the honour of the dignitaries.
DGAR appreciated all Officers, JCOs and Jawans for their contribution in maintaining peace in Nagaland. He thanked all civil administration for their kind cooperation being extended to security forces in maintaining peace and ushering in development of Nagaland.
The force has rendered yeoman service for 175 years of distinguished service in maintaining peace and law and order in the entire NE region apart from guarding the borders.
He exhorted all ranks and file to live upto excellent tradition of the force and image of “Sentinels of the North East” and “Friends of the Hill People”.
A defence release stated that DGAR and President ARWWA will depart for Tuensang on July 6. They will be seen off at the helipad by the IGAR (N).
