With a view to kick start its proposed “Year of sanitation”, a mass social sanitation work was held within Wokha Town Council (WTC) jurisdiction on July 3.
The program was led by deputy commissioner (DC) Wokha, Rovilatuo Mor, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Wokha & WTC administrator, Athel O. Lotha and SDO (C), Anthony Ngullie. WTC has expressed gratitude to all legislators for financial assistance; parliamentary secretaries, Er. W. Kithan and Y. Patton, Kyong Hoho, Kyong Students’ Union, 41 Assam Rifles (AR) commandant, EE (R&B) Wokha and staffs, GBs/chairmen of all colonies for their physical participation. Council also thanked Khonthungo Kikon, Pankathung Ezung, Orhyumomo Ovung, Rithungo Jami, 41 AR, M/s Panesar & Sons and M/s Thungchamo Lotha & sons for contributing machineries, excavators and tipper trucks free of hire-charges during the social work, and all individuals who participated towards making the program successful.
Further, WTC has informed all colonies that phase-wise work would be carried out from July 5.
Meanwhile, GB’s Union of Wokha Town has expressed gratitude to DC Wokha for providing fund to all the 27 colonies of Wokha town during social work held on July 3. Union also thanked DC,ADC, SDO (Civil) Chairman Kyong Hoho Wokha Town Council and 41 Assam Rifles for providing trucks (vehicles), JCV and tractor during social work and parliamentary secretary Yanthung Patton and W. Kithan for their presence in the social work.
