Kidima Students’ Union (KSU) has suspended its vice president, Vilakhoto Tepa for issuing unauthorized press release on tax collection by SAPO and KMC at Phesama check gate which was published in local dailies on June 23.
The decision of the suspension was made by the union on July 4 at Kidima Community Hall, Kohima.
A release by president and joint secretary, Kekuneil Ltu and Visekuno Rote, also stated that the house had denounced the statement made in a press release issued by Vilakhoto Tepa.
Union clarified that the release was made without consultation or consensus of the union and that the views expressed were not reflection of the union but his personal opinion.
KSU further expressed regret to SAPO and KMC for hurting their sentiments by unauthorized press release by one of its members who had also expressed his ignorance pertaining to the matter.
KSU reiterated its stand that it was a part and parcel of SASU and SAPO and assured its support to fully cooperate with the organizations.
