NICGOA meeting
Kohima: Emergency meeting of Nagaland Industries and Commerce Gazetted Officer’s Association (NICGOA) has been convened on July 9,11 am at the conference hall of directorate of industries and commerce, Kohima to discuss some important issues. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Dmu census supervisors meeting
DIMAPUR: Charge Officer, Dimapur Town Census-2010, Nikhashe Sema has directed all the supervisors of Dimapur town area to attend the urgent meeting on July 9, 11 am at Deputy Commissioner’s Office conference Hall.
Inauguration of GHS Sovima
DIMAPUR: Government High School (GHS) Sovima village, Dimapur would be inaugurated on July 10 at 10am by minister for school education & SCERT, Nyeiwang Konyak.
DIMAPUR: Meeting of executive members of Western Sumi Kukami Hoho has been convened on July 9, 10 a.m at the office of Chekiye village. All executive members have been informed to attend the meeting.
DIMAPUR: DC Kohima has issued order on prohibition of dumping of garbage, loose excavated soil along the National Highway 39 below Naga Hospital till Bye-Pass check gate. DC Beiu-U Angami notified that violators of the order would be dealt with as per the provision of the law.
CCYA meeting
Kohima: Chakhesang Catholic Youth Association (CCYA) has convened a meeting on July 9,4 pm Holy Family Parish Pfiitsero. All officer bearers of CCYA and village unit CYA chairperson /presidents under CCYA have been informed to attend the meeting.

DIMAPUR: Kuhuboto Ghakhu Students’ Union (KGSU) has convened an emergency meeting on July 9, 9am at KGPO hall to discuss matters relating to its forthcoming general conference to be held at Vihokhu village. Application for NCA
DIMAPUR: District Education Officer (DEO) Dimapur has informed that applications for consideration of ‘National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement’ award have been invited from children between 4-15 years of age who have shown ‘exceptional achievement’ in any field including academics, arts, culture and sports etc. Detailed information would be available at DEO’s office, while last date of submission of application would be on July 15.
KMC sanitation meet
KOHIMA: Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Administrator Alun Hangsing has convened an emergency meeting relating to sanitation on July 9, 11 a.m conference hall of KMC. Advisor sanitation, advisor motor pool, KMC, President KCCI, President Muslim Welfare Society Kohima, President Tibetan Community Kohima, President Gorkha Public Panchayat, President Hindu Kalyan Sameti, Kohima have been informed to attend the meeting. Further, meeting to discuss on garbage disposal within KMC jurisdiction has also been convened on July 13, 11 am at conference hall of KMC. Advisor Sanitation, advisor motor pool, advisor revenue and Taxes, KMC, director (ULB), Urban development, President Angami Women Organization, all colony panchayat chairman, colony youth president and all inspector Asst. inspector, KMC are informed to attend the meeting.
CSDD informs on FPS
DIMAPUR: Consumer Society Dimapur District (CSDD) has informed all FPS owners and village council FPS to make available all kinds of foodgrains under central scheme such as APL, BPL, AAY, annapurna etc meant for identified consumers in the district as per their entitlement for issue from respective shop/area. A press note issued by CSDD further cautioned that FPS dealers found breaching rules on display of information and foodgrain samples or maintenance of records, would be fined/imprisoned under Essential Commodities Act. It also stated that social audit may be made by area GBs, who could supervise FPS in urban areas and help identify “Above” and “Below” Poverty Line beneficiaries.
DEO Kohima on submission of teachers’ list
DIMAPUR: District Education Officer (DEO) Kohima, Zaveyi Nyekha has informed all DIS/GHSS/GHS under Kohima district to submit list of all teachers along with their appointment orders under respective establishment, appointed against 1991 post creation orders from July 1991 to date. The lists have been directed to be submitted to Director & Inspector General of Police, Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Nagaland on or before July 9 through special messenger with an intimation copy to DEO office Kohima.
Peren forest deptt. appreciated
DIMAPUR: Ngwalwa Village Council (NVC) has expressed appreciation to forest department Peren division and range officer, Ngwalwa Range for distributing 5000 numbers free Holok saplings from range nursery to 83 private planters of the village on July 1.
AVC informs Aoyim land owners
DIMAPUR: Aoyim Village Council (AVC) has informed all land owners of the village to procure new land patta and pay annual budget for both current year and previous year defaulters, and all land holders to register within July 8 to 10. Council cautioned that upon failure to comply with its notice, AVC would take stock of the land of defaulter(s).
AYO ‘Year of social networking’
DIMAPUR: Angami Youth Organisation (CYO) keeping in tune with their declaration of the year of 2010 as ‘Year of social networking’ toured Chakhro area from July 1 to 3 and held meetings at Medziphema town hall, Chümoukedima Chakhro Public Organisation Hall and at Kuda village. Spreading message on preservation and protection of environment, the AYO has banned hunting and using of air guns in Angami areas. Further, AYO has thanked ADC Sedevikho Khro and Er. Kelhoupu for donating Rs.5000 to the organisation.
LVSU call for magazine entry
DIMAPUR: Lotsu Village Students’ Union (LVSU) has informed all interested members to contribute essays, articles, poems, humor and anecdotes etc for union’s forthcoming golden jubilee magazine. Entries have been directed to be submitted to LVSU office bearers by the end of August.
RASU meeting
DIMAPUR: General meeting of Ralan Area Students’ Union was held on July 3 at Ramsuyan village where village council, secretaries, GB, DB, former members of the union, Ralan Area Eloe Hoho, officers from Ralan area resolved to forget and forgive the past mistakes and to work together for betterment and development of the area. Union general secretary R. Hayithung Ngullie in a press note informed that meeting deliberated on formation of ‘Ralan area public organisation’. Members of the new organisation were also elected at the meeting with Lichio Kithan (Yanpha village) as the chairman, Merithung (Ronsuyan village) as secretary and all village chairmen under Ralan area as executive members.
BJP Wokha grateful
DIMAPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha district has appreciated the people of the district for their support during state-wide bandh on July 5 in protest against recent hike in fuel prices. BJP Wokha also extended gratitude to all sections of people, political organizations, district administration, police and media persons for their support.

IGAR (N) greets
DIMAPUR, JUL 7 (NPN): Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM, VSM, IGAR (N), and all ranks of Assam Rifles have extended warm greetings to the people of Sumi tribe on the occasion of their prime festival Tuluni. A defence statement said the IGAR (N) wished the tribe prosperity in all spheres prayed to the Almighty to keep a benign eye on the Sumi tribe and the people of Nagaland to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquility in the days to come.
UBCA combined service
DIMAPUR: United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA) north-east India women fellowship combined service has been convened on July 10, 2.30pm at United Baptist Church Balijan, near LRC Dimapur. All women members of United Baptist Churches Association NEI have been requested to attend the programme. Meanwhile, United Baptist Churches Association youth department would organize its first youth conference from July16-18 at Life Spring Corner Dimapur. United Baptist Churches Association president, Rev. Y. T. Lotha, general secretary, pastor L. Hevuto Awomi and youth secretary, pastor Richard Mech would be the main speakers of the conference.
