Merhülietsa local board meet
DIMAPUR: General meeting of Merhülietsa local board (MLB) has been convened on July 15, 5:30 p.m at Panchayat Hall for nomination of new office bearers for the tenure of 2010-2013. All members have been informed to attend the meeting.
RMSA format collection
DIMAPUR: All headmasters of private high schools and higher secondary school and private college attached with higher secondary school under Dimapur district have been informed to collect the RMSA format from the office of district education officer, Dimapur. Last date for submission of duly filled forms will be on July 23.
CRSU conference
DIMAPUR: The 38th general conference of Chukitong Range Students Union will be held on July 29 at Chukitong town on the theme ‘Bringing tomorrow into today’s choice’. Addl. Secretary, I & PR, Yanbemo Kikon has consented to be chief guest and Nchumthung Kikon will be the theme speaker. The union further informed all its federating units to attend the conference with a minimum of 20 delegates along with one flag. Election for 2010-2012 tenure will also be conducted on July 28. Meanwhile, the union extended invitation to VCMs, VDBs, church leaders, NGOs, students, teachers and government departments, former executive members of CRSU and well wishers to attend the conference.
RCYAM foundation day held
DIMAPUR: Rongmei Catholic Youth Association Mhainamtsi (RCYAM) conducted the half yearly meeting-cum- foundation day on July 8. The meeting was chaired by James Tr, president and Lucy Kamei, seasonal secretary. Further, land survey was also processed on July 9.
LPG safety clinic at Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Dimapur LPG sales officer of India Oil Corporation Ltd. under Tinsukia Area office organised a ‘Safety Clinic’ for the school and college children at Shree Digamber Jain Girls College, Dimapur on July 9 and 10. More than 100 students participated in the clinic. Assistant manager of IOCL explained on safety measures while using LPG and various ways of conserving LPG. Live demonstration was shown with LPG installation and an outlet was put on the dias displaying various safety equipments viz, fire retardant apron, green label LPG stoves and clipper gas lighter and Suraksha hose pipe.
BAP office bearers’ tenure extended
KOHIMA: In a meeting held on July 7, the Bayavü Area Panchayat (BAP) decided to extend the tenure of the present office bearers of BAP by another three months with effect from July 14 upto October 14. The tenure of the office bearers which stands at three years was unanimously extended with another three months as their services was required for some unfinished works. BAP also decided that a general meeting of the colony would be called within three months period by the panchayat.
NPF members join Congress
DIMAPUR: Eleven members of NPF party workers of ward 22 Dimapur under I Dimapur- A/C have tendered resignation from active and primary membership and have merged with Congress party. The resigned members have pledged to support and cooperate with MLA K.L Chishi former chief minister and Phukavi Yepthomi former DMC member.
Meanwhile, welcoming the former NPF workers into the Congress fold, President ACCC I Dimapur I A/C Tukuka H Awomi has assured to strengthen the INC party.
ANATA Zbto unit elects new officials
DIMAPUR: A new team of office bearers for All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Association of Zunheboto unit was elected on July 6 at SKK conference hall with Illato Sumi as president, Tokheho as vice president, Ikuto Zhimo as general secretary, V Yeptho as asst general secretary and Atoli Sema as treasurer. Meanwhile the union informed all doubtful and adhoc teachers to submit their first appointment order, two passport size photograph, latest extension order and attested mark sheets from matriculate onwards. The members have been informed to report to DIS Zunheboto for undertaking the sign of all doubtful teachers.
31 Akuluto A/C NPF clarifies
DIMAPUR: Clarifying to the news item dated July 9 ‘INC Akuluto welcomes NPF workers’, the 31 Akuluto A/C NPF clarified that there was no record of the advisor or the active members after the MP election as mentioned. Secretary of the NPF 31 Akuluto A/C Acca Kiba asserted that the district division of the party had declined to give the membership form to the Akuluto unit and therefore there was no question of resignation by the members. The party also further urged the Congress party not to involve in cheap politics.
13 AR seizes liquor from NH-150
DIMAPUR: Troops of 13 Assam Rifles seized 40 cases of liquor from a Maruti Gypsy bearing number NL-07C-0583 on NH-150 near Pfutseromi road Junction at around 7pm. According to a defence release, the vehicle was on its way from Chakabama and heading towards Pfutsero. The seized liquor along with the vehicle and two accused were handed over to Pfutsero police station, stated a defence release.
Condolence message
DIMAPUR: Khukiye and Lukhai Students Union (KLSU) has expressed sorrow and grief over the demise of its former president Visheto Z Swu on June 27 last. The union also further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
DG of prison: DG of prison, HG &CD along with the staff of the department expressed grief over the demise of Krulhukhono (typist) who passed away on July 6 last.
ANSTA Kiphire: ANSTA Kiphire unit has expressed sadness over the demise of Tsolenmong G/T GMS Longmatra Town on July 8 and conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed the departed souls rest in peace.
Tuluni celebrated in Purana bazaar
DIMAPUR: Sumi Festival Committee, Model colony, Purana bazaar observed the 6th Tuluni festival on Thursday at the residence of its chairman Niuto Awomi. The function was graced by Nihokhe Yeptho as chief guest. Meanwhile, the committee also thanked all the participants and the public of the colony for their support and contribution and further informed that for the coming year, the celebration will be hosted by Augustin.
