Organisational elections in the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee have been shelved and could either be clubbed with the AICC general elections later this year amidst speculations of a tussle for the NPCC president’s post between adhoc president I.Imkong MLA and S.I.Jamir MLA. The tussle between the two has been described as a family tussle, according to party sources Source from the Congress party revealed that there is no clear cut directive from the Central Election Authority on the election of the PCC president so far. The reason behind the delay is also attributed to the party in some states in the country such as Andhra Pradesh which have not completed the process of election to the organizational leadership at the district level. Now the election to the state level party leaders is likely to be held simultaneously with the AICC election which is expected to be held before the party plenary session scheduled to be held in Mumbai in November. The election for the NPCC president post was earlier scheduled for July 25 but was postponed due to the budget session.
