NECU to check bogus electrical contractors

Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) has called upon all electrical power divisions to strictly check test certificate prior to energizing any building both private or government, as per vide government order No: PWR-49/2003 and also the general conditions for supply 2007.
This was decided during an emergency meeting of the union.
Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union further urged all executive authorities to insist on usage of identity card of electrical contractors issued by department of power before placing any work, to check bogus electrical contractors who are not registered with the Chief Electrical Inspector, department of power.
Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union stated that there were some report of department linemen or electricians taking up internal wiring works by giving consumers early service connection which was a total violation of government order.
All in-charge have been asked to be more vigilant against illegal or unauthorized electrification works before signing ‘J’ form. It cautioned that illegal actions would be reported to the higher authority for strict penalty.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union has reminded all electrical contractors to collect their licenses from the union head office, opposite power House Kohima, from 9-11 am on all working days before August 31.
