Naga Council meeting
DIMAPUR: Special meeting of Naga council comprising of councilors, presidents and secretaries of all tribal Hohos, tribal elders/seniors citizens, Naga women Hoho Dimapur, DNSU and GB union would be held on August 7, 10am to discuss on Naga commission and other agenda.
Annual SGPB meeting
DIMAPUR: Annual 30th State Geological Programming Board (SGPB) meeting for 2009-10 would be held on August 5 at DGM conference hall, Dimapur. geology and mining department director, H. K. Chishi informed that the meeting would cover deliberation on reports of activities carried out during field season 2009-10 and programs to be taken 2010-11 season by the department. The meeting would be attended by scientists, technocrats and officials of various related central government/state government departments and private organizations.
NEFR affected land owners meet
DIMAPUR: An emergency meeting of the affected land owners, NEFR (North East Frontier Railways) from Dimapur, (Thahekhu) up to Zubza (Peducha) broad guage has been convened on August 6, at 10am, at Chumukedima Town Council Hall. All affected land owners have been requested to attend the meet as important issues would be discussed and highlighted as provided by the ministry of railways, Delhi, followed by a press conference.
B. Sc agri result declared
DIMAPUR: Nagaland University has declared result of Agri 4th year (2006-07 batch). Out of 62 students who appeared for the exam, 57 students passed, five students failed while result of 12 students was withheld.
SSUK emergency meeting
Kohima: An emergency meeting of the Sangtam Students’ Union has been convened on August 7, 9:30 am at the residence of its treasurer.
CCLC meeting
Kohima: An executive council meeting of the Chokri Chakhesang Literature Committee will be held on July 6 at 12 noon at CLC Office Kohima.
NCP Youth wing meeting
Kohima: There will be a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party Youth Wing Nagaland State Unit on August 6 at its main office near Traffic Point PWD Junction. All district and constituency assembly presidents and general secretaries have been asked to attend the meeting.
WCWC advocacy meeting
DIMAPUR: Women and Child Welfare Centre (WCWC) Dimapur in collaboration with Legislators forum for AIDS Nagaland (LFA) would be organizing “An advocacy meeting for community ownership of HIV and AIDS on August 4, 10 am at town hall, Medziphema. The main speakers of the programme would be K Hollohon, MLA official from LFA- Nagaland and DAPCU, Dimapur. All the women and child welfare centre (WCWC) Dimapur has requested all the GBs, Dubashis, Pastors, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders and all grass root level political leaders under Ghaspani 11 A/C to attend the programme.
ANJMSA general meeting
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Judicial Ministerial Staffs Association (ANJMSA) has convened a general meeting on August 20, 11am at office building of District and Sessions Judge, Dimapur. All the executive members from each district have been requested to collect membership fees from the members of their districts and submit it at the time of meeting. The rate of membership fees as follows: Supdt and Asstt. Supdts- Rs 1000, Peshkars and UDAs- Rs 500, LDAs and Bench Asstt- Rs 300, Grade 1V- Rs 200, Contingency Staffs- Rs 50.
SBTA executive meeting
DIMAPUR: An executive meeting of the Sumi Baptist Theological Association (SBTA) has been convened August 13, 10 am at SBTA office Trinity Theological College Thahekhu. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
KVK scientific advisory committee meet
DIMAPUR: The scientific advisory committee meeting of KVK (ICAR), Wokha would be held on August 5, 11 am at KVK, Wokha Conference Hall, Saron Colony. All district head of department of agriculture and allied departments have been requested to attend the meeting. The annual action plan for the year 2010-2011 would also be presented and discussed.
Nsong town meet
DIMAPUR: A joint area emergency meeting has been convened on August 5, 11.30 am at Nsong town to discuss the back door teacher appointment. NAPO president, Atong has requested all village chairmen/ VEC and respective of area students union president, Zeliangrong students’ union representatives and Tening Area student member to attend the meeting.
NZC emergency meeting held
DIMAPUR: Northern Zeme Council (NZC) has unanimously resolved to stand for cancellation of back-door appointment at Peren district and also expressed hope that Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) would fight to the last and deliver justice to the people of the district. A press note issued by Lungbwa Haikube, vice president NZC said the decision was taken in an emergency meeting held on August 1 at Ngwalwa town attended by 15 members. Further, the vice president on behalf of the council members has requested Vikholie, president NZC not to publish his requests using the name of NZC in future without consulting the council members and to let truth and justice prevail in the district.
ANAGTA meeting
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Adhoc Graduate Teachers’ Association (ANAGTA) has convened a meeting on August 6, 10 a.m at conclave conference hall, LCS building Midland, Kohima for those candidates who have appeared the suitability test conducted by ATI Kohima during the month of July-August, 2005 and are due for regularization.
Bhandari co-ordination meeting
DIMAPUR: Head of offices co-ordination meeting was held on August 2 at ADC’s Conference Hall Bhandari to chalk out programme for the forthcoming Independence Day celebration. The meeting was chaired by ADC Bhandari, A. Robin Lotha where 40 delegates attended inclusive of heads of offices, NGOs and institutions.
FWA Zunheboto supports
DIMAPUR: Zunheboto unit of PWD housing Field Workers’ Association (FWA) has extended its support to the decision of ANPWDFWA to carry out agitation if state government failed to give positive response for fixation of work charge employees scale pay on or before August 10.
Hunting, fishing banned in Zunheboto
DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto has notified all general public under Zunheboto district that, hunting and fishing would be banned in the district for two years w.e.f. July 1. DC added that the order was issued in pursuance of the decision of DPDB held on June 8 and violation of the order would be viewed seriously and heavy penalty would be imposed as per law.
District level essay competition
KOHIMA: A district level essay competition for all high school level students in Kohima on the theme “Bamboo for community and livelihood” is being conducted with effect from August 1 to 31. All principals and headmasters have been informed to certify name of the students, class, roll number and submit it with the essay to Kohima DEO on or before August 20.
Career guidance session at NIIT
DIMAPUR: All students of NIIT Dimapur Centre have been informed that a career guidance talk session will be conducted by Sunil Patni, IT Developer, USA at NIIT’s new Conference Hall at 1pm on August 4. Further, all the career students of the centre have been informed to attend a mock interview session with ex-Satyamite, Abhishek Jain, MBA (HR) at NIIT’s new Conference Hall on August 7.
Apropos the news item ‘ZB (N) declared illegal’ which appeared on August 3 issue, the headline should read as ‘ZB (N) declares Zeliang People Organization illegal’, and not as rendered.
