All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers Association (ANPSTA) Peren district unit expressing resentment over the present teachers’ recruitment in Peren appealed to all authority in charge to implement National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) norms, Right to Education Act 2009 for appointment of teachers without any bias and discrimination.
Pointing out certain anomalies adopted by higher authority in connection with appointment of teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abaiyan (SSA) without transparency and open advertisement for deserving candidate, All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers Association Peren unit president Kekusap Nring in a press release said, thought department of school education introduced pre-service teachers education course in the year 2003 under the directives of the National Council for Teachers Education Act, the National Council for Teachers Education Act recommended policies were jeopardized by imparting teacher training and not allowing teachers to insinuate the knowledge they learned and thereby depriving the appointment to Pre-Service Teachers Education (PSTE) trained candidate.
The association further stated that though government on June 25 approved to give special preference to those possessing Pre-Service Teachers Education qualification for appointment into the post of elementary teachers, the Act and government directives had been “willfully distracted by the irresponsible authority” and was put in to test at Peren district, without screening the candidate and fulfilling the formality for recruitment.
