Three youth of Pezielietsie colony were injured by a speeding vehicle on Tuesday, while on their way for football practice session.
Pezielietsie Youth Organization (PYO) in a press release said on Tuesday at around at.4.30 am, four to five youth who were practicing for local football tournament representing Pezielietsie Colony were going for their usual morning practice when a car came directly from behind and on the wrong side of the road hit the three youth.
According to witness the same car knocked down and injured two other girls who were apparently going for prayer meeting in the near by church. One of the players, Ottawa was seriously injured with a broken leg.
Further, the organisation said that unknown driver of the car was suspected to be in an inebriated state and that the authorities were yet to make any arrest in this case.
However, with the help of Kohima Traffic Police and RTO’s office, the Pezielietsie Youth Organization was in the process of confirming the registration number and other details of the car.
Meanwhile, the organization has urged vehicle owner and driver to voluntarily settle the case with the organization. Failing which the organization said it would take its own course of action.
