The department of Rural Development (RD) bade farewell to its officers and staff on August 4 at SIRD Conference Hall, Kohima.
In the function, S. Pangnyu Phom, parliamentary secretary, RD &REPA, recollected his experiences of serving the department under the guidance of the retiring officers.
He thanked them for their valuable contribution and encouraged them by saying “not everyone was so fortunate to reach this stage of life and retire with dignity. He said today was not an end but a new beginning to start another chapter of life and encouraged the retiring officers to continue living an inspired lives.
Commissioner and secretary, V. Sakhrie, congratulated the officers for giving the best years of their service to the department. To the current serving officers and staff, he urged them to “live for today as if it was your last” and to be time conscious and build good relations with everyone.
The retiring officers also shared about their personal experiences while serving the department. Hilo Semp, project director, DRDA Dimapur gave a short speech on behalf of the project directors and Lanuwabang, registrar, on behalf of the Ministeral staff.
