District level youth parliamentary competition and quiz contest was held at Zisaji Presidency College Auditorium Hall on August 4. Participants from six High schools and Hr. Sec. schools participated in the competition. The principal of the college and programme coordinator, Dr. V. Thingo welcomed the participants and teachers from various institutions and urged the participants to feel free and comfortable and build up confidence within to use the youth power for the cause of the society.
The convener of the district committee, C. P. Bose highlighted the nature and objective of the youth parliamentary contest and quiz and the level of its stand now in the country. The quiz master of the day was Gagan Ch. Mishra, a member of the committee.
In youth parliamentary competition, the Zisaji Presidency College students was declared the winner while Loyola Higher Secondary School bagged the second prize.
In quiz competition, the participants of Saramati View Modern High School, Zisaji Presidency College, and Cambridge School stood first, second and third respectively. Cash prizes were handed over to the winners by Dr. V. Thingo. Zisaji Presidency College and Saramatiview Modern High School team would represent in the state level for youth parliamentary contest and quiz respectively.
Meanwhile, youth parliamentary and quiz competition for Phek district was conducted at GHSS Phek on August 4. EAC Phek, Imokokla Kichu and principal GHSS Phek exhorted the students. The five students Tekhe-u and Vebito (Pfutsero Govt. College), Muletalu and Zhovelu (GHSS Phek) and Nezosulu (SHHSS Chizami) were selected to represent for the state level competition.
