Govt. working to improve IT : Sukhalu

Secretary of information technology and communications, K.T Sukhalu on Friday reiterated that government was working for improving and reaching IT connectivity to all parts of the state. He assured that Nagaland entering the main internet highway was in the offing.
Speaking at the closing programme of a two-day workshop on e-NGO at Working Women’s Hostel Kohima, Sukhalu said poor connectivity of digital technology faced by people in remote areas of the state would be dealt with.
He urged the participating NGOs to put whatever they learned into practice and expressed hope that with the expansion of technology NGOs would expand their work to all rural areas and work with all sincerity.
Sukhalu apprised the gathering on some of the action plans of the government for technological advancement in the state which included setting up of State Data Centre, where every citizen could excess information through the centre; State Wide Area Network (SWAN) which would provide intra-department as well as inter-department connectivity and access to all departments under the state government; e-literacy, usage of ITC tools for better e-governance etc.
K.T. Sukhalu also distributed certificates to the participating NGOs. Ben Imchen from Elysium Tech Tvt Ltd delivered the vote of thanks.
The two-day workshop was initiated to empower NGOs with website of their won to further empower them with information and also give them internet platform to connect with the government and other stakeholders.
