Social work at Kiphire
DIMAPUR: High school ward Kiphire town organized a social work at its colony on July 31 where all residents of the ward participated with the initiative of former KTC member Lisepi Sangtam, CMO Kiphire I. Sangkit, DIS Kiphire Shahoto Yim and SDO (R&B) Zhekiya. Colony has expressed gratitude to all individuals who participated and urged responsible citizens to encourage and join such social work in future as well.
Training held on ‘technology intervention’
DIMAPUR: One day training programme of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Kohima) on the theme ‘technology intervention’ was conducted at New Tesophenyu village on August 4. The training aimed to motivate and improve the farming practices of progressive farmers. Lecture cum interaction mode of teaching was conducted on topics Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on Rodent management, Perspective of Jhum Cultivation and Paddy cum fish culture. The resource persons were K. Michael Piney SMS (entomoloty), Zhiete SMS (soil conservation) and Longma Yanger SMS (Agrl Ext). Altogether 39 farmers participated in the programme. The programme was chaired by Moatemsu Jamir, KVK Kohima.
Farewell programme organised for officials
DIMAPUR: Officers and staff of directorate of soil & water conservation conducted a farewell programme on August 4 for seven officers and six other officials in the Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima. R.T Asang Jamir, the Director acknowledged the services rendered by the retiring officials for the department in particular and the public in general. Each of the retiring officials was given present by Rongsentemsu, Project Director on behalf of the department. Chairing the gathering Kikashilu, Joint Director in the final message wished them all the best and invited them to continue to work in their retired life for soil and water conservation objectives.
KVK Mon conducts training
DIMAPUR: Training for SHGs was conducted at KVK complex, Aboi, Mon on July 5. According to a press statement, the training covered the topics as, preparation of pickle and squash by Kerimenla, SMS horticulture; sericulture by Chakruno, SMS Plant Protection and Management of SHGs by Likashi Sangtam, SMS, Agricultural Extension. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Likashi sangtam SMS, Agricultural Extension while the keynote address was given by B.N Phom PC incharge, KVK, Aboi.
Congress members join NPF
DIMAPUR: Congress members from 20 A/C Meluri led by Neitsolie Janry, former general secretary (election) 20 ACCC Meluri; David Thuer, former vice president 20 ACCC Meluri; Krutu, member and VDB secretary Moke village and Tsolemong, member and VDB secretary Washelo village have declared to resign from both active and primary membership of the party and joined NPF to support and strengthen the leadership of Yitachu, parliamentary secretary Law and Justice and Tourism; Neiphiu Rio, chief minister and Dr. Shurhozielie, president NPF. This has been informed in a press release issued by Neitsolie Janry, former general secretary 20 ACCC Meluri.
OMR conducts banking service programme
DIMAPUR: Officers Marketing and Recovery (OMR) from SBI Lerie branch conducted one day banking service under RBI Financial Outreach Programme on August 6 at Khonoma village with the active participation of Khonoma youth president and his colleagues. According to a press statement issued by Neikhoto Tachü, OMR SBI Lerie passbooks of no-frill accounts were handed over to individuals, deposit service extended, opening of saving accounts and signboards were handed over to Farmers Club. Further, awareness on various facilities like credit, deposit and mobile banking was highlighted.
