To promote indigenous culture of people in the state, St. Joseph’s High School, Longleng organized a day long cultural fest in the school premises on August 7. Rev. Fr. John Poji principal of the school welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance and objectives of cultural fest.
Rev. Fr. C.P. Anto Director, Youth Commission and Peace Channel in his message appreciated the noble initiative of the school authority and Longleng community.
While addressing the gathering he stressed on the urgent need to promote dying culture and tradition and it would by advisable for all educational institutions to let children come to the schools and colleges at least once in a year with traditional tribal attire. He exhorted that everyone should be proud of Naga culture as it was colorful and rich.
Other highlights of the programme include solo, duet, group song and folk dance competition. Rev.Fr. James, the chairman of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School graced the occasion with prayer; Sr. Anna Mary headmistress filled the minds of the participants with word of God and Sir. James co-ordinator of cultural fest proposed the vote of thanks.
