ENSF boycotts ANCSU membership fee
DIMAPUR: The Eastern Nagaland Students Federation (ENSF) directed all its members not to submit any membership fee or any other related deduction to All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) and urged the college authorities to issue necessary directives in their regard. The federation also informed all its sub-units to collect one hundred each from all its members studying in different colleges across the state and deposit the same at the ENSF office.
SBC youth sales day
DIMAPUR: Showuba Baptist Church (SBC) CYE organized its sales day on August 6 at old Showuba Dimapur. The occasion, organized to encourage the youth in work ethics, mainly showcased various handicraft products made by CYE members. CYE department has appreciated all those who showed support towards the programme.
ATC east Dimapur lauds DMC
DIMAPUR: Ad-hoc Town Council (ATC) Purana Bazar, East Dimapur has lauded advisory board of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) led by Er. Keditsu for their efforts towards improving sanitation in the town. ATC East Dimapur chairman stated in a press release that the need to improve sanitation was a long felt need of the town and appreciated DMC advisors for showing their capabilities not only on sanitation but in other fields as well. Council also assured of its cooperation to DMC advisors in their endeavors as they worked for the people of Dimapur and further urged all NGOs and administration to extend their cooperation as well for the welfare of Dimapurians.
ZPOD supports NC
DIMAPUR: In pursuance of Naga Council meeting with tribal Hohos; GBs union NWHD; DNSU; senior citizens and well wishers, Zeliang Public Organization Dimapur (ZPOD) has extended its support to the resolution adopted at July 26 meeting. A joint press note issued by ZPOD president, Heling Zeliang and NC councilor, Rangau Elung stated that organization, during its consultative meeting, also resolved to give full support to NC in its further endeavors.
New yoga centre at Chumukedima
DIMAPUR: A new yoga centre of Patanjali Yog Samiti Dimapur was inaugurated at Nagaland police central mandir premises, police complex Chumukedima on August 7. Chief district coordinator Bharat Swabhiman (trust) also informed that a seven days yoga demonstration during yoga shivir at the new centre was underway which would conclude on August 13.
NNC/FGN discharge one
DIMAPUR: NNC/FGN has given forced discharge to 2nd Lieut Hoketo Yeputho of Zhekiye village from its fold. In a press statement Brig Tokugha Zhimo, commander 6th Bde Naga Army FGN said that Hoketo used to rampantly collect tax without the consent of the authority and an alcoholic who never pay heed to the orders of higher up and hereby given immediate discharge.
Treasurer NCP Nagaland appeals
DIMAPUR: Treasurer NCP Nagaland, N. Hotongse Sangtam has appreciated Dr. Shurhozelie, minister Urban Development and Department of Higher Education for bringing several projects like establishment of Polytechnic institution to five districts such as Tuensang, Mon, Wokha, Phek and Dimapur. In a press statement issued by NCP treasurer has further appealed to the responsible authority to select the site committee and start the construction for the establishment of the polytechnic institution which has been sanctioned by the government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, department of Higher Education.
Mass social work conducted at Chiephobozou
DIMAPUR: Mass social work cum cleanliness drive was conducted at ADC headquarter Chiephobozou on August 6 under the supervision of EAC Limanenla. All government departments, town council and students participated in the drive. The forest department contributed various species to tree saplings which were planted in various places to beautify the town. The ADC Martha R. Ritse acknowledges the active participation and all for their cooperation in this programme.
