Police unearth abduction case

In a major breakthrough Kohima police unearthed the two-month old abduction case of a youth following the arrest of an accused on Tuesday. While interrogating, the accused confessed to the crime and led to the recovery of the body identified as Anito Sema on Wednesday, buried at a place near Chedema village. The body was also exhumed for investigation in the presence of a magistrate and a doctor and later, the highly decomposed body was buried in the same place. The body reportedly bore bullet mark. The deceased was abducted by armed miscreants near Red Cross building two months back. Police said investigation was on and refused to divulge the identity of the accused as that might hamper the investigation process.
