Plea for relief for landslides victims

Excessive rainfall had caused a severe damage in various parts of the town thus leaving many families homeless besides effecting irrigation and agricultural land to a large extent. In this connection, Chang Khulie Setshang (CKS) the apex body of the Chang community on Wednesday appealed to authorities in charge/ agencies both of the district and state level to immediately initiate necessary action and to render all possible help to the affected families and individuals.
According to the President and Secretary Information & publicity CKS, N. Kaimang and I. Akhum Soted Chang many irrigation projects and agricultural lands were damaged owing to heavy rainfall posing serious threat especially for those dependent on agriculture. The CKS also said major road ways and foot paths were also damaged seriously under various sectors of Tuensang town causing untold hardship to the general public. Chang Khulie Setshang has appealed to the concerned authorities/ agencies to look the grievances of those affected and the localities at the earliest for the welfare of the people.
