Rape condemned

Lotha Eloe Ekhüng (LEE) has condemned the alleged rape of 22 year old Lotha girl in Chumukedima on August 4. According to LEE Secretary Emilo Humtose, the culprit identified as Thepfuzouto Angami of Jakhama village after committing the crime threatened the victim and her uncle and aunt with dire consequence if the matter was reported to the police.
While condemning the “heinous act” the union urged the authority to award befitting punishment to the culprit. LEE also appealed to authority in charge not to grant bail to the accused under any circumstances.
Meanwhile, Kyong Hungjantaren Ekhung Wokha, Kyong Students’ Union Wokha and Kyong Eloe Hoho Wokha also condemned the incident.
The Kyong bodies urged law enforcing authority to book the culprit and award befitting punishment to the rapist as per the provisions of the law. The three bodies also informed that any individual or group trying to obstruct the law from taking its course of action would be dealt with seriously.
