Prosecution witnesses in the specular north east (SNE) swindling case, involving SNE managing director R.K Nath a.k.a Shambu Das, would appear before the District Court, Mokokchung August 18 next and provide evidence.
Informing this in a press statement Thursday, the SNE, Nagaland branch SEO Lichanthung Lotha has asked all interested members to attend the hearing that day.
According to SNE Nagaland the accused is liable to pay about Rs. 80 lakh to 250 employees and 7000-8000 depositors.
Meanwhile, the SNE, branch offices in Nagaland (SNE) have appealed to all the member depositors to bear with the situation and cooperate with them in bringing justice. Reminding the members that the accused was currently lodged in jail, the SNE urged members to come forward and extend cooperation in tackling the situation so that cheated amount could be recovered and give a befitting lesson to the “fraudster” as well.
The SNE Nagaland has also appealed to the member depositors not to harass its staffs as it was not the staffs who cheated them.
It may be mentioned that judicial magistrate first class of Mokokchung had on July 28 last turned down the bail plea of SNE managing director R.K Nath a.k.a Shambu Das, who is involved in swindling depositors of huge sum, saying allegation against the accused was “serious in nature”.
The local court while citing other reasons for bail plea rejection, had said that the accused was arrested by the state police from Guwahati only after issuing non-bailable arrest warrant.
