Youth parliamentary quiz conducted in Mon
DIMAPUR: District level youth parliamentary quiz competition was held on August 5 at Mon Town Council Hall with MLA Lanpha Konyak as chief guest. The MLA highlighted on the importance of the history of Indian freedom struggle and parliamentary system of India. DC, Dinesh Kumar, IAS encouraged the students to participate in such programmes. Government Wangkhao College won the first prize and Govt. Higher Secondary, Mon and Konjong Higher secondary were placed in 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Keep NH 61 clean: WTC
DIMAPUR: Wokha Town Council (WTC) has directed public to keep NH-61 road clean by clearing the drains. WTC administrator Athel O. Lotha in an official notification informed public constructing houses to remove stone and soil accumulated by site cutting and not to block nullah/side drains.
The notification further added that defaulters would be imposed a fine of Rs.5000 as per U/S.470/471 of Municipal Act of 2001.
FNR and Naga leader’s meeting
DIMAPUR: Kutsapo village council (KVC) has extended welcome all the Naga leader delegates who would be attending the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) and Naga leader’s meeting from August 19-20 at Kutsapo village, Phek district. According to secretary, VDB, Kutsapo, Razukhuyi Rakho, Kutsapo is located 10kms away from Phek town, and 155km from Kohima, and added that there would be no conveyance or communication problem for those attending the programme.
NNC general meeting
DIMAPUR: A general meeting of NNC would be held on August 18 at Tuensang – Eastern Region. NNC Lotha Region president, Chumbemo Khenchung has requested interested and national minded ones to attend the meeting.
Alumni Zunheboto govt college get together
DIMAPUR: The faculty of Alumni Association of the Zunheboto Govt. College, Zunheboto is organizing a get-together programme August 20, 12 noon at the college premises. All alumni have been reminded to attend the programme.
TSU assembly
KOHIMA: Tseminyu Students’ Union (TSU) has convened its union assembly on August 15 at 1:30 pm at Zisunyu Village. All executives, advisors, and unit presidents have been asked to attend the meeting.
NGBF meeting
Dimapur: Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) has convened a meeting on August 25 at 11 am in the commissioner office conference hall, Kohima.
Queensberry Foundation meeting
Dimapur: An emergency meeting of the Queensberry Foundation has been convened on August 16 at 11 am. Chairman of the foundation has informed all the executives to report to Solomon Yimchunger and Tinochang (project executive officer), Tuensang branch for necessary information.
E.P. Field Staff meeting
Dimapur: E.P. Field Staff of Industries and Commerce has convened an emergency meeting at August 17 at 11 am at DIC Kohima, old DOI. building.
WSSU meeting postponed
Dimapur: Presidential meeting of Western Sumi Students Union (WSSU) which was earlier scheduled on August 14 has been postponed to August 16 at 10 am at its union office, Thahekhu.
Gospel concert on Aug 15
Dimapur: Baptist Youth Fellowship Dimapur (BYFD) has invited all individuals for an evening worship “Redeemer’s Praise” gospel concert with Euangeleon from Eastern Theological College (ETC), Jorhat on August 15 at 5 pm at Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur.
Sumi GBs meeting
Dimapur: General meeting of all Sumi GBs have been convened on August 18 at 10 am at town hall Zunheboto.
KMC notification for I-Day
KOHIMA: In view of the Independence Day celebration which on Sunday, administrator Kohima Municipal Council Alun Hangsing has informed all business establishment and public not to throw any waste on the road side by Saturday evening till Monday morning (i.e. 14th to 16th Aug. 2010). All shops and footpath vendors would remain close on Sunday and violators would be sternly penalized, informed Hangsing.
Shürhozelie to inaugurate shopping complex
DIMAPUR: Coinciding with celebration of 63rd Independence Day, the newly constructed shopping complex, located in the heart of Mokokchung town would be formally inaugurated by minister for urban development & higher education Dr. Shurhozelie at 1p.m. Short Speeches will be delivered by DC Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi and President Ao Senden, Lendinokdang while vote of thanks will be proposed by President Chamber of Commerce Mokokchung, Lanukaba.
Kohima, Dimapur GBs to attend I-Day prog
DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Kohima has extended invitation to all chairmen and GBs of Kohima town, Kohima Village, Chedema Village and Chedema Model village to the 63rd Independence Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Nagaland Civil Secretariat Complex, Kohima at 8:30 am. Meanwhile, deputy commissioner, Dimapur has directed all GB’s of GB Union Dimapur to attend the Independence Day celebration at DDSC Stadium on August 15 and to be present at the ground by 8:30am.
MMC directs shops to close on I-Day
DIMAPUR: Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has notified stall/counter not to open until Independence Day celebration programme of was over. MMC informed all parties engaged in the stalls to attend the programme.
ATMA exhibition, competition in Mkg
DIMAPUR: In order to encourage the farmers of the district Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung District would be organizing a district level exhibition – cum – competition for agricultural items during Indian Independence Day at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. Agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, veterinary & animal husbandry departments’ products would be displayed for exhibition – cum – competition. Exhibits would be accepted from 10 to 2 pm on August 14 and from 7 am to 9 am on August 15 at ATMA exhibition stalls. For more details farmers have been informed to contact nearest FIAC/ATMA office or contact ATMA officials a 09436006012/09436016186.
Chedema VC condemns
Kohima: Chedema Village Council (CVC) has expressed shock over the finding of a highly decomposed body on August 11 and condemned such acts of murder and dumping of bodies in its jurisdiction. CVC cautioned those individual/groups involved in such nefarious activities to refrain from using Chedema village territory in future.
Admission to MA in education dept
Dimapur: The merit list of eligible students who have applied for MA admission in the department of Education have been declared and put up at the notice board of the department, Kohima campus Meriema. Eligible candidates have been informed to appear for the interview on August 26, from 9 am along with original necessary documents/certificates for verification. Any one failing to turn up for the interview or furnish original documents/certificates on the interview day would not be considered for admission, head department of education, NU Kohima campus, Merema Dr. Buno Liegise informed.
ANAATA meeting
Dimapur: Emergency meeting of anaata has been called on Monday at 10 am at directorate of school education Kohima. All members have been informed to submit all necessary documents such as education qualification certificate, appointment order and other training certificate if any. anaata informed that meeting was to be compulsorily attended by all its members irrespective of any show cause notice issued to them. Members are also informed to submit Rs. 1000.
