Tetso College welcomes freshers’, fetes rank holders

Tetso College celebrated its freshers’ day –cum- felicitation programme on Friday with Editor Nagaland Post Geoffrey Yaden as chief guest.
The main highlights of the programme included felicitation of the two rank holders from the college at the UG exams of NU. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest in speech stressed on wholistic education of the students, which he said, included the mind, body and soul. While at the same time he also called upon the teachers to mould the students. “You have a human garden, utilize it” he averred.
Congratulating the two rank holders, Yaden said that it was primarily due to their endeavor to achieve whatever they do that they have tasted success. While lauding the college authorities for the excellent result, he also reminded that education was not only inside the classroom but outside as well. He also further affirmed that retrospection on education was needed if a student does not end up becoming useful to the society. Yaden also called upon the students to respect teachers and reminded them that they are the futures of tomorrow. “The future is in your hands” he told the students.
Earlier the principal of the college lauded the two rank holders for bringing laurels to the college. While welcoming the freshers’ at the same time, he also pointed out that challenges were great and called upon them to have a strong commitment in pursuing higher education.
Administrative officer of the college in his speech gave a brief idea on how the name of the college came about. He said that the name ‘Tetso’ was derived from Rengma dialect meaning ‘Thought’. Highlights of the programme were crowning of Mr. and Miss Fresher, dance by college students and a fashion parade by models of Star Ex. Grooming agency. Judges for selecting Mr. & Miss Freshers’ were Vilie and Asu George from Star Ex. grooming school and were Moanungsang was crowned as Mr. Fresher and Teisovinuo as Miss Fresher.
