‘Naga I-Day’ messages

Messages on the eve of the ‘Naga Independence Day’ on August 14, were received from various Naga nationalist groups. In a joint statement, the GPRN/NSCN-FGN, which united on July 15 expressed gratitude to the visionary leadership of the NNC on the day for “unleashing the power of liberty for evey Naga to embrace.”
FGN president ‘Brig’(Retd) S.Singnya reaffirmed the Covenant of Reconciliation adding that unity between the GPRN/NSCN and FGN was in the spirit of Reconciliation. NNC president Adinno Phizo in another message, reminded of the declaration on August 14,1947 and the 1951 Plebiscite. NNC president Dr Senka Yaden in his speech, called for unity among all groups but stressed that it should be “inclusive’.
