Independence Day was celebrated at Imkongmeren Sports Complex with Dr. Shruhozelie Liezietsu, minister urban development and higher & technical education gracing the celebration as the chief guest. Dr. Shruhozelie delivered the speech and took the salute from the march consisting 13 contingents. The chief guest also gave away prizes for ATMA district level best organized farmers’ group and block level best farmer for the year 2009-10. Chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments.
NIULAND SUB-DIVISION: Niuland Sub-Division on Sunday joined with the rest of the country in celebrating the 64th Indian Independence Day with parliamentary secretary for geology and mining, irrigation and flood control and border affairs Y. Patton as the chief guest at Niuland public ground. Observing the occasion in a befitting manner, Patton clad in a typical Indian white Kurta took Rhastriya salute from ten parade contingent and extended Independence Day greetings to the people of Niuland. He inspected the parade and read out the annual Independence Day message. The function was attended by GBs and DBs of Niuland area, government officials and public and school children.

KIPHIRE: In Kiphire, Chairman NSMDC C. Kipili MLA took the salute of 64th Independence Day celebration at public ground with public leaders, officers and citizens. Folk dance by Kisetong village, Sumi women community and the Taekwondo demonstration tug of War was played between GB’s and DB’s were the highlights of the day, various stall were also set up and the Indian Red Cross Society visited the patients at the district hospital and Sub-Jail Kiphire.
TUENSANG: Along with the rest of the country, the 64 of Indian independence was celebrated here at parade ground Tuensang, with T.R. Zeliang minister for planning & co- ordination,
evaluation, veterinary & animal husbandry, parliamentary affairs as the chief guest. WOKHA: Joining the rest of the country Wokha district celebrated Independence Day at local ground Wokha with Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry as the Chief Guest who unfurled the National Flag and inspected parade contingents consisting of 16 Parade contingents led by Asst. LONGLENG: Independence Day at Longleng was celebrated at football ground with Speaker, NLA Kiyanilie Peseyie as the chief guest. Chief Guest hoisted the National tri-colour and inspected the parade contingents. He also took salute from the nine parade contingents.
PEREN: Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Peren with Minister for Health & Family Welfare Nagaland, Kuzholuzo Nienu as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest unfurled the National flag and took salute from 13 parade contingents of Peren. The parade was inspected by the Chief Guest, which was followed by Independence Day speech. The chief guest also distributed the District Green awards and inaugurated the exhibition stalls.
PHEK: Minister for Roads & Bridges, G. Kaito Aye graced the occasion as the chief guest at local ground. He unfurled the national flag and took the Rashtriya salute, which was followed by inspection of parade contingents. Later the chief guest delivered the Independence Day the parade was led by Assistant Commandant 5th N.A.P, Moa Temjen.
MEDZIPHEMA: Medziphema Sub-Division celebrated the Independence Day at its Headquarter local ground with MLA & Advisor Sericulture and Cooperation, Azheto Zhimomi as the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag and took salute from nine parade contingents presented by NAP and eight different school students led by parade commander ABSI Moaren, DEF,Dimapur.
PORBA: at KVK Phek (NRC on Mithun, ICAR), Porba, Pfutsero the National flag was hoisted by Dr. R.K Singh, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Phek. The staff of the institute, village representatives and teachers from Porba high school attended the ceremony.
AGHUNATO: At Aghunato ADC Hqr parliamentary secretary for IPR & Economic & Statistic, R. Tohanba graced the occasion as chief guest. He unfurled the national tri-colour followed by parade inspection. The Chief Guest in his address extended his warm greetings to the people of Aghunato on the occasion of Independence Day celebration.
PUGHOBOTO: Pughoboto Sub-Division celebrated the Independence with Great enthusiasm, at the local ground Pughoboto, where Parliamentary Secretary Horticulture, R. Khing was the chief guest. The After taking the salute the chief unfurled national flag and inspection of parade presented by Nagaland Police (NP), Nagaland Armed Police (NAP) Pughoboto, Government high School (Boys), Government high School Girls, Mission School and New Foundation School.
PFUTSERO: Along with the rest of the country, Pfutsero sub-division celebrated Independence Day with Parliamentary Secretary, Law & Justice, and Tourism Yitachu as the Chief Guest. The chief guest unfurled the national flag and took the salute from the 12 contingents consisting of school students, DEF and 5th NAP and read out the Independence Day speech.
SHAMATOR: With the rest of the country Shamator also celebrated Independence Day with Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Printing & Stationery, Relief & Rehabilitation, S. Heno as the Chief Guest who unfurled the National flag and read out the Independence Dau Day.
CHIEPHOBOZOU : Independence Day was celebrated with Parliamentary Secretary, Prison, Home Guard, Fire & Emergency Services, Wochumo Kithan as the chief guest. He unfurled the National Tri-colour, which was followed by singing the National Anthem by Government High School Chiechama. He also took salute from the eight parade contingent.
TULI: Parliamentary Secretary Social Welfare and Women Development, Chotisuh Sazo, graced the 63rd Independence Day Celebration at Tuli Town along with hosts of government officers, public leaders. TSEMINYU: Along with the rest of the country, the 63rd Anniversary of India Independence Day was celebrated at Tseminiyu with Chairman NKVIB & Advisor Music Task Force, Nicky Kire at the RSA ground old town Tseminyu. The chief guest unfurled the National Tri-colour and read out the Independence Day speech and took salute from the parade contingent.
ABOI: Independence Day was celebrated at Aboi with MLA & Chairman MARCOFED, C.L. John as the Chief Guest who unfurled the National Flag and read out the Independence Day message and took salute from 9 parade contingents.
NAGINIMORA : Along with the rest of the country, India Independence Day was celebrated at Naginimora with Deputy Chairman State Planning Board, Neiba Kronu who unfurled the National Tri-colour. The chief guest read out the Independence Day speech and took the salute from the parade contingent consisting of 6th NAP ‘D’ Coy, Government High School Naginimora, United Christian Higher Secondary School and Ayo Memorial School Naginimora.
TAMLU: Along with the rest of the country the 63rd anniversary of Indian Independence Day was formally observed at Tamlu headquarter peacefully in the SDO (C) office premises. T. Wati Aier SDO (C) Tamlu unfurled National tri colour.
CHANGTONGYA: Indian Independence was celebrated at Changtongya Head Quarter at SDO (C) office compound. Chubawati Chang SDO (C) unfurled the National Flag and read out the Independence Speech. He also took salute from DEF personnel.
THONOKNYU: Independence Day was celebrated at Thonoknyu public ground with SDO (C) Thonoknyu, Lithrongla Tongpi as the chief guest who unfurled the National flag and took salute from the parade contingents comprising of NAP Thonoknyu, VGs Thonoknyu village, Baptist School Thonoknyu towns and GMS Thonoknyu.
She also delivered the Independence Day speech and thanked the public for attending the function and making the programme a success.
TSEMINYU: Tseminyu celebrated Independence Day in a befitting manner with Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Chairman of NKVIB and Advisor of MTF, Nagaland as a Chief Guest at RSA ground, Old Town Tseminyu.
