Closure of Catholic schools in Mon

Showing sign of resentment over the destruction of Catholic Church at Kiphire, Don Bosco School and Holy Cross School at Mon remained shut today. It was also learnt that Newman School at Tobu cooperated with CAN by not opening the school.
CRI Nagaland unit condemns
Meanwhile, state unit of Conference of Religious India (CRI) expressed dismay over the July 9 incident wherein a catholic church was demolished at Anatongre village under Kiphire village. President of the unit Fr Sebastian Chennoth SDB asserted that according to traditions every Naga was free to follow any religion of one’s choice besides the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution.
While calling upon all right thinking citizens to come forward to resolve the present the crisis amicably, the president also lauded the efforts of the chief minister Neiphiu Rio for summoning the local MLA Torechu to find out the facts through the district administration and extending necessary actions.
