Order on Naga Commission put in abeyance

After much debate over “Naga commission”, an official order permitting Naga council, Dimapur to collect taxes, the Dimapur district administration has decided to put its controversial order in abeyance till further notice.
A fresh official order issued by additional deputy commissioner Sedevikho Khro stated that in supersession of its permit No.PER-1/96-D/5902-08 dated 13/6/2010, and complying with the conditions laid down in the permit order issued by it vide order No.PER-1/98-D/5902-08, it has been put in abeyance till further notice.
Meanwhile, the Naga Council Dimapur has convened a general public meeting on July 26, at 11 am at its office, Nyamo Lotha Road, to discuss on “Naga Commission.” All the following leaders, organizations, tribal hohos have been requested to attend the meeting: All tribal councillors of 19 Naga tribes, all tribal hoho presidents, secretaries of 19 Naga tribes, all GB executive of district and sadar unit, senior citizens, former Naga Council presidents/general secretaries, former councilors, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur president & executive, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union president & executive and all well-wishers/NGOs. The meeting was convened by Naga Council general secretary Ntsemo Ngullie.
