NABARD officials visit Jalukie

New general manager of NABARD Dr. U.S. Saha and his team visited Jalukie on July 16 to inspect projects of NABARD undertakings in collaborating with Rongmei Baptist Association Nagaland (RBAN).
According to RBA Dev. Secretary Akaina, general manager and manager Khup with the team visited mainly to assess ongoing programs and its potentials of the people and the area for further future program interventions.
Alan Gonmei, Chairman of the development board shared during the meeting highlighted on the need to address with continuity of existing ongoing programs with further bigger emphasis to the extent of Watershed program for 13 villages of Kebai area. While other board members expressed on gender issue, vehicular road less condition in some of the project villages, market for WADI produces and means to transport them etc.
Saha also visited Lamhai-Dungki and had meeting with different beneficiaries of Machilu (WADI), Famers club (FC) and SHGs. He also met FC, Women SHGs of Mhainamtsi Village and advised the Farmers Club to form SHGs group within the FC so that they can make the better turn-ups and assistance can also be sought from the Bank and also visited one among many SRI demonstration fields in Mhainatmsi being a new intervention for farmers by the NABARD.
He also visited ‘Rural Haat’ constructed by NABARD at weekly market site in New Jalukie.
Programs like Revolving Fund Assistance (RFA), Tribal Development Fund (TDF), Formation & Promotion of Farmers Club (FC), promotion of SHG Bank linkage and Systematic Rice Intensification (SRI) are some of the program activities carrying on in Peren district funded by NABARD.
