Distraught over the irregularity of SBI Kiphire branch manager, Kiphire District Farmers’ Association (KDFA) has appealed to responsible authority to intervene and necessitate that deputed banking staff were in station for smooth functioning of the bank.
KDFA, in a letter to SBI deputy general manager NE Circle, said Kiphire being a remote district of Nagaland and the only banking institution in the area being SBI, villagers of far flung areas travel the distance to avail banking facilities. It alleged that as the branch manager was present at his posting only in the first week of a month, villagers and farmers were unable to avail facilities on time, besides incurring additional expenditure. KDFA also stated that central/state sponsored schemes like CMCF, PMEGP etc for self employment were still pending, for reasons “best known to branch manager.
Stating that the negligence of the branch manager had become an inconvenient to customers, villagers, farmers and entrepreneurs of the area, the association urged responsible authority to look into the matter and deploy someone reliable and in the interest of the general public.
