Pointing to “certain anomalies” detected on the issue of Nagaland Retirement from Public Employment (Second Amendment) Act 2009 and subsequent office memorandum from the office of the chief secretary to ascertain the exact number of vacancies in all the departments, the NSF has beseeched the concerned authority to uphold the stand and effectively implement the Retirement Act in “total transparency” at the earliest. The NSF in an open press statement to the state government said it had categorically stated that any resulting vacancies affected out of the Act should be transparent in toto with open competition. The NSF said it, therefore, considered that implementing the Retirement Act by the present government was basically meant to provide employment to the competent unemployed youth of the state. The Federation cautioned that if any individual/departments was appointing any candidate through backdoor, without proper conduct of examination affected out of the Retirement Act since October 31, 2009, it would not hesitate to fight against such odds so as to defend its cause which was detrimental to the future generation under any circumstances. Stating that the Federation representing the aspiration of the youth of the state for a “just cause” cannot be totally thrown into thin air, the NSF said its stand was very clear in making an attempt to safeguard the future of the younger generation and would continue to do so until its demand was fulfilled.
