Tsungremmong festival in Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Aliba Kichuchar Kidong (clan) Dimapur unit, has informed all its members participate in the celebration of Tsungremmong festival cum family get together programme on August 2, 2 pm at the residence of Limawapang, Landmark colony (PWD) Dimapur.
KCFDA fellowship service
DIMAPUR: Kandi Christian Fellowship Dimapur (KCFDA) has informed all the Kandi Christian fellowship members Dimapur area to attend the service on August 1 at 3 pm at Dimapur Rengma Baptist Church Khermahal.

DIMAPUR: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) would be observing its 31st foundation day on August 2, 11 am at NSF conference hall. Union has extended invitation to its senior members and two representatives each from all affiliated colleges.

Dimapur DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: Monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur meeting for the month of August has been convened on August 5, 11 am at the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur. Additional deputy commissioner Dimapur has informed that proposal of LADP schemes for 2010-11 would be finalized at the meeting, and requested members to submit schemes under LADP before August 4.
Mass social work at Tuensang
DIMAPUR: In view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration 2010, All Sector Union Tuensang Town (ASUTT) would be organizing a mass social work at Tuensang town on August 2, 6 am onwards. DC Tuensang, Y. L. Jami has directed all town sectors, heads of departments, schools and colleges in the town to cooperate and participate in the social work, while ADC and administrator Tuensang has been requested to supervise and make necessary arrangement of vehicles from various departments.

Mokokchung DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: Mokokchung district and planning board meeting to finalize Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for 2010-11 will be held on August 9,11 am at the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung. All members have been requested to attend the meeting. Meanwhile, head of offices of the district have been informed to submit a hard disc copy (CD) on respective departmental activities on or before August 2.

Exhibition cum sale on bamboo crafts
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. Dimapur is organizing exhibition cum sale on bamboo crafts commemorating World Bamboo day and North East International Bamboo festival at Kisama from September 16 to 18. Interested individuals, SHGs, Co-operatives, NGOs may apply to the Project Cell, NHHDC Ltd., Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, on or before September 10 during the office hours. Managing director, Hokiye Yeputhomi stated that the stall would be provided free of cost to the participants along with daily allowances and travelling allowance for 2nd Class Train/ Bus fare on producing of original tickets
Dimapur unit Chen area Sheko Khong formed
DIMAPUR: As per directive of the Chen area Sheko Khong, the Dimapur unit of the union was formed on July 23 after a meeting at the residence of former MP W Wangyuh Konyak. Meanwhile, the unit informed all girls from Chen community (including Eastern Chen) residing in Dimapur to register themselves from August-September 2010. The unit also informed to report with respective local guardians along with a fee of Rs 50 and two passport size photographs. NPF 21 A/C Tuli conducts meet
DIMAPUR: The NPF 21 A/C Tuli held an executive meeting on July 27. The meeting deliberated to re-strengthen from the grass root level and thoroughly reorganize all the frontal bodies of A/C. It also resolved to inform all officers and staff under the constituency to be regular in their respective work for the common good of the people. Further, the party thanked chief minister Neiphiu Rio and MLA L. Temjen Jamir, ministers, parliamentary secretaries and officers for rendering developmental activities for the area.
NIITM completes one year
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Institute of IT and Multimedia (NIITM) Dimapur observed its 1st anniversary on July 27 with NIITM academic advisor and retired director of higher & technical education, Rongsenrenla as the main speaker. The advisor apprised trainees on equipping themselves with modern education and applying them in practical life as contribution to the society. Aoyimti youth director, Imti Imsong and Tulu Longkumer of Sinai Ministry were special guests at the programme.
Peren DPDB meeting held
DIMAPUR: Peren district planning and development board meeting was held on July 28 at DC’s Conference Hall with DC Peren, Khrienuo Metha as chairperson. The house recommended application submitted by Thezhochalie of Punglwa village for plying of taxi from Punglwa to Dimapur. Project director DRDA Peren gave a power point presentation on various activities of the rural development department. Earlier, the house also deliberated on programme and work distribution of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration at Peren. The house decided to conduct a mass social work on August 12 from 7 am.
LBC youth thanksgiving
DIMAPUR: Lonpayimsen Baptist Church (LBC) youth department has observed its thanksgiving day on July 18. Department has expressed gratitude to programme speakers Rev. I. Toshi Aier and Tako Longkumer, and all those who contributed towards the programme.
IMFL Seized
DIMAPUR: Excise personnel of Dimapur district led Dy. SE S Chanlei Angh seized 182 bottles of IMFL and beer in a surprise raid carried out on July 26 and also arrested eight persons in this connection.
Medical camp at Longpayimsen
Dimapur: Sümeren Charitable Health Care (SCHC) Dimapur sponsored a free medical camp at Longpayimsen village on July 19. Longpayimsen Baptist Arogo and village council have expressed gratitude to Temjen, Dr. Watizulu S. Jamir and staff of SCHC Dimapur for their contributions towards the camp.
GPS building inaugurated at Kitami
DIMAPUR: District Education Officer (DEO) Zunheboto Ghuzhui Shohe on July 27 inaugurated the new building of GPS Kitami. The DEO was also accompanied by DIS Pughoboto Shihoto Zhimomi and District Mission Authority officials. The chief guest in his speech lauded the council and VEC for donating funds from the village for construction of the new building. DEO also urged parents and teaching staff to shoulder more responsibilities for healthy environment.
ACS Dimapur conducts seminar
DIMAPUR: Asian College Sovima (ACS), Dimapur conducted a seminar on career and counselling on of July 29 with Dr. R.K. Behera, academic dean, Patkai Christian College as resource person. In the seminar, Dr. R.K. Behera stressed on adopting systematic approach to choose one’s own career such as identification in individual interest, skills and talents, above all he held that one should first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness then all things shall be added to them.
Wokha PMEGP beneficiaries informed
DIMAPUR: The viva-voice for all the PMEGP beneficiaries under DIC Wokha would be held on August 10 and 11, 10 am at DC’s conference hall. All candidates have been informed to bring all their original documents and certificates during the interview.
IPM prog at Suhoi, Khehokhu village
DIMAPUR: Season long integrated pest management (IPM) programme was formally launched on July 27 at Suhoi and Khehokhu village. Resource person, APP Bendanglila explained the concept of IPM programme and its effectiveness in controlling pests of different crop with special emphasis on paddy. In Agro-Ecological System Analysis (AESA), exercise on identification of pest insects of paddy crops was carried out in the field wherein farmers could identify pests and know their habits and crop damage caused by them. A total of 60 farmers attended the training.
Food and civil supplies dept Kohima clarifies
DIMAPUR: Assistant director, food and civil supplies, Kohima has clarified that the reference letter no KSC/TPDS/28/2008-2009, dated July 27 public information for Annapurna rice distribution published in the local dailies on July 30 should read as 4 months i.e. April – July 2010.

DIMAPUR: Superintendent of Police, Kohima has served “Summon Slip” to vehicles owners for traffic violation in and around Kohima from July 21 to 25.
