The 38th general conference of Chukitong Range Students’ Union (CRSU) was held at GHS Chukitong chapel hall on July 29 with information and public relation (IPR) additional secretary, Yanbemo Kikon as chief guest and Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd. Mokokchung assistant manager, Nchumthung Kikon as theme speaker.
The chief guest in his speech called upon students to choose the right path and stated that students were not only leaders of tomorrow but strongest and most powerful instrument for constructive change in the society. Nchumthung Kikon, the theme speaker encouraged students to decide their future and utilize time in the right way and also urged them to be disciplined and respect teachers and elders.
Other highlights of the programme included modern songs by Ajamo Kikon and Thungyani Kikon. Greetings and presentation were also part of the program. Meanwhile, the chief guest donated Rs.10,000 towards the students welfare.
Other dignitaries who attended conference were EAC Chukitong Albert Ezung, Kyong Students’ Union president Yiben Humtsoe, NSF assistant general secretary Ejanthung Ngullie, and area public of six villages.
CRSU new team of office bearers for the tenure 2010-12 were also elected during the conference with T. Phyobemo Kikon, as president and R. Liremo Kikon as general secretary.
