State Bank of India, assistant manager, A. K. Das on July 30 inaugurated library cum multimedia lab at St. Joseph School (SJS), Chumukedima. While interacting with students, the chief guest said the student life was the best time to play and enjoy also the right time to build career, character and discipline.
He also invited the students to aspire to take banking as a career, which would take them to the highway to economy. He also enlightened the students to initiate the habit of saving for the growth of entrepreneurship. While quoting the words of Rabindranath Tagore, the chief guest said if people imprisoned the waves of the mighty ocean for hundred years, it could be compared with a small library.
The newly inaugurated library contains classified books on general knowledge, journalism, publishing, newspapers, religion, Bible, Catholic literature, Language, mathematics, algebra, geometry, physics, chemistry, biology, physiology, ecology, botany, poetry, drama, fiction, novels, essays, speeches, letters, satire, humour etc.
The library also provides students with the popular magazines such as The Week, Frontline, Tehelka, Outlook, India Today, Real Attitude, English Today, Wisdom, Competition Success, Inspirational Quote, The Northeast Today, Sahara Time, Tell Me Why, Career 360, Readers Digest, Northeast Sun, and Teenager and so on.
The multimedia lab is fashioned to make the classrooms more interactive and fun to help the school to manage, track and assess the students’ performance in an easy and effective manner.
It significantly enhances the teaching and learning experience in the classroom as it creates an interest in the minds of the students.
