PHC most neglected in Seyochung

Seyochung Area Students Union (SASU) conducted its annual educational tour on July 17. Union inspected various department like primary health centre (PHC), GMS and GPS.
According to its general secretary Chorise Sangtam, among all, the primary health centre was found to be one of the most neglected department headed by its medical officer and 11 staff members were found to be absent from duty for five to six months.
Few of the staff members were also found absent since their joining report. Lamenting that both GMS and GPS at Seyochung Village was running under the care of only one teacher each and made to cover 5 to 6 classes at one go, the union appealed to the DIS Kiphire to look in to the matter.
Stating that right to free and compulsory education was only in theory union urged the employees to report in their respective duty at the earliest and cautioning that union would not remain as a silent spectator.
Meanwhile, the union expressed gratitude to chief medical officer Kiphire for providing medicines, which has enabled the union to help the needy people as part of its educational tour.
