Displeased over the recent promotion of one graduate teacher of 2004 regularized group to the post of OSD directorate in the rank of headmaster (Class I gazetted) superseding around 800 of the seniors, the All Nagaland Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has demanded cancellation of promotion order NO. EDS (PER) 1-2/06 dated July 17 and has set August 16 as deadline to authority in- charge to cancel the promotion order.
The association in a letter addressed to the commissioner and secretary department of school education and SCERT alleged that the promoted headmaster was just an adhoc graduate teacher and was appointed on contract basis as evaluation officer in the directorate of school education vide order NO.EDS/1-52006(D) May 19, 2006 which was questionable.
The Association also alleged that the promotion was not processed in the branch but approval for promotion came from higher authority to issue order and added that the name was not listed in the seniority list. ANSTA president Kepelhoutuo Chüsi, general secretary N. Thungchio Shitire, vice president Lima Aier, joint secretary Kekuolhouthie and Treasurer Ponchulo Wanth informed that the association would boycott classes in schools throughout the state till cancellation order from the authority in- charge was issued.
