Sumi Patriots’ Day

Sumi Partiots’ Day which is celebrated every year in all Sumi inhabited areas would be observing death anniversary of late Gen. Kaito Sukhai on August 4 at Patriots monolith, Zunheboto town at 8:30 a.m.
Sumi Hoho Nagaland has informed all fontal organisations of Sumi Hoho including WSH, SKH, SKK, STH etc., family members of the martyrs, national workers, Churches and all public to attend the programme.
Meanwhile, Sumi Hoho general secretary Kitoho S. Rotokha reiterated that erstwhile ‘Sumi Youth Day’ which is now known as ‘Sumi Patriots Day’ has been taken over by Sumi Hoho since 1997 and henceforth directed Sumis not to observe August 4 as Sumi Youth Day but as ‘Sumi Patriots Day’
Further, Sumi Hoho has expressed gratitude to JCC members, Konyak union, Khiamnungan Tribal Council, Chang Khulie Setsang, Yimchungru Tribal Council, United Sangtam Likhium Bamji, Phom People’s Council, Kachari Tribal Council, Nagaland and Kuku Ingpi, Nagaland for by unanimously nominating Khukivi Awomi former minister as the convener, joint coordination committee (Nagaland Tribals) for the tenure 2010-13. Sumi Hoho wished the new team of JCC (NT) headed by Khukivi Awomi and co-convenor Lemba Chang a success.
