A one-day seminar for volunteers (EV) and assistant education volunteers (AEV) under Salvation Army Church Kohima (SACK) alternative schooling coordinator was held at Hotel Cimorb, Old Ministers’ Hill Kohima on July 21.
Addressing the seminar, DMA (SSA) project officer, Vizolie emphasized on aims and objectives of alternatives schooling under SSA to bring children between the age group of 6-14 years to school with free and compulsory education. He also emphasized on Right to Education Act of India and implementation of alternative schooling in Nagaland.
EBRC Kohima coordinator, Medokhrieu shared on the topic “Psychology of children between 6-14 years”. She stressed on understanding child psychology, finding out their problems and hardships as well as their abilities and interests so that they could be molded to be responsible citizens. She advised EVs and AEVs to cultivate efficiency, creativity and think at the level of their learners to go about with their challenging job of helping the most difficult category of children in the society.
Meanwhile, EBRC Kohima TOT Kijina Sote delivered presentation on “A very simple and effective ways of teaching methods to dropout children.” Various means and methods of teaching for children to enjoy learning through creativity were discussed.
