RLA welcomes construction of two-lane highway at NH 61

Rengma Landowners Association (RLA) has welcomed the process of construction of two-lane highway (32.4 kms) which falls under Rengma area of National Highway 61. The rla has also decided to place a demand-which include earth cutting for widening of road construction of protection walls/culverts/drainage etc at NH 61 falls under Tseminyu sub-division be allotted to the landowners.
The association in its meeting on August 25 unanimously resolved to submit a memorandum to the chief engineer, Roads and Bridges, Nagaland for the demand for consideration. RLA in a joint press statement by its president, Khonbi Jemu and general secretary, Khetu Kath stated that it would take its own course of action, unless the department in-charge fulfilled the landowners’ legitimate demands.
