BAP expels 1 for child abuse

The Bayavü Area Panchayat (BAP) has expelled one Akum Aier from Bayavü Colony with immediate effect for his “high-handedness and violent character” meted out to a domestic helper on August 16, which had brought “shame, disgrace and bad name” to the residents of the colony.
The panchayat in a joint press note by its chairman, Povotso Lohe and general secretary, R. Hillo Kemp stated that the decision to expel Akum was taken during the emergency meeting of the executive body held on August 21.
The BAP alleged that on August 16, Akum who was working as an electrical instructor of Directorate ITI Kohima and a resident of Bayavü colony had “mercilessly tortured his male servant /domestic helper, Shibu Chetri (10),” a class III student of Government Primary School Bayavü Hill with “third degree method using copper wire beyond human toleration”.
Meanwhile, the panchayat has lauded those organizations- Bayavü and Women Organizations, North PS and district administration Kohima, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, Child Welafre Committee, Nagaland Child Rights Committee, North East Region Service Nepali Association, NSF, etc for their genuine concern and rendering valuable service in booking the “culprit” and for looking after the safety and welfare of the children.
