Girl students excel at essay competition in Mokokchung

Mokokchung district science seminar 2010 was held at Mayangnokcha GHSS Auditorium on Thursday on the topic “India and the World Science – Are We there?”
ADC Mokokchung R. Asenla Keitzar graced the function as the chief guest. She remarked that India the 9th country in the world in the field of Science had made tremendous achievements in the last 63 years of Independence and that generation gap was now replaced by technological gap. She expressed hope that the young students would find their participation useful and beneficial.
Nungshijungla of Queen Mary Hr. Sec. School got the 1st position while Waizungla of Jubilee Memorial HSS and Imliakum of Nagaland Christian Residential School got the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
The prizes were given away by Rowaienla Principal MGHSS. Tomy John Senior Graduate Teacher MGHSS and Zulutemba Senior Graduate Teacher MGHSS were the supervisors of the seminar. The DEO Mkg Y. Lanutemjen proposed the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, prizes for essay competition which was held on August 24 on the topic “Bamboo for Community and Livelihood” were also awarded. First, second and third prizes were awarded to Walichenla Walling of Jubilee Memorial HS School, Sashichila of Town HSS Mokokchung and Rongsensowa of St John’s School, Changtongya respectively.
