Zeliangrong Students’ Union (ZSU) Tening town has appealed to PWD (Roads and Bridges) and state government to repair the only road linking Tening and Peren which had worsened day by day.
Union alleged that no repair work was done by department in charge for quite a few years and the condition of the road was turning from bad to worst.
Union reiterated that due to the request made by Students Union, the daily public transport was still made available at the risk of the lives of the common people who travel on daily basis to and from Tening to Dimapur. Union also cautioned that if anything happened to daily commuters due the bad road condition, the department in-charge would be held responsible along with the state government.
Union President Namdiwang Kuame informed that in view of serious matter, ZSU TT along with Town youth organization took up the matter with the Town Committee and a plan has been worked out to repair the road voluntarily by students and youths of the area for the time being with the help of the town committee.
Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Tening Town on behalf of the people of the area has requested MLA, Tarie Zeliang to take up the matter further for the improvement of the road.
Further, union has resolved to take up its own course of action if the matter was not taken up by the department in-charge and cautioned that any consequences would not be held responsible by the Union.
