The district level science seminar for Dimapur on the topic ‘India and the world science: Are we there’ was held at Pilgrim higher secondary school on Monday with joint director of education Pollem Tep as chief guest.
The seminar has been organized all over the country by the National science council for museums with an aim to inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking among the students.
Saurabh Roy of Pranab Vidayapith Higher Secondary school won the first prize followed by C Hatsi Khongsai of Pilgrim school while the third prize went to Junait Akhtar of Little Star Higher Secondary school.
The judges for the seminar were principal of Immanuel College Th.Sharatchandra Singh, lecturer of Pranabanda Women College Purnima Das and Athi Shiva of St Pauls higher secondary school.
Meanwhile in the essay competition, Khepoka of Government Higher Secondary School won the first prize of Rs 7000, Joshna Murry of Bethesda School won Rs 5000 for second prize while the third prize of Rs 3000 went to Saurabh Roy.
