Expressing strong indignation over the poor quality of work especially the black topping on the 5 kilometer stretch(0 km-5km) to Kiruphema from the NH39 to NH 61 at Tsiesema, the Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) questioned the capability of the contractor involved in the job. The KYO has demanded to know why the work could not be done through the huge NABARD fund during 2005-2006 and also why another work order for the same road was issued under SPA fund during 2009-10 to the same contractor who had earlier not done the job well. Deploring the road condition, KYO lamented it could not differentiate between “Black Topped road” and “Earth filled road” and asked whether it was the fault of the contractor or the state government or the department responsible. KYO also asked the government to seriously look into the case immediately and find out the cause of the deplorable state of the NH-61 in Kiruphema village area. Cautioning that it would not remain a silent spectator if the work was not done as per the required standard of the National Highway , KYO said those in authority responsible would be held solely responsible for any consequences.
