Militant nabbed by students in Manipur

One of the two militants, who came to a school and threatened teachers to pay money demanded by KCP-Noyon group, was caught by the students of Johnstone Higher Secondary School and handed over to the police.
The incident occurred yesterday at Johnstone Higher Secondary School located in the heart of the Imphal city and was reported on Tuesday when the students staged a sit-in protest in front of their school premises. They decried the act of the militants disturbing the academic atmosphere of the school.
Further, one student narrated that the two militants came to the school yesterday, and threatened teachers to pay Rs 2000 each which they had demanded.
According to police source, the apprehended was identified as RK Bobby of Kwakeithel, Imphal and an activist of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP)- Noyon faction.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, the owner of a truck along with the handyman was detained by some unidentified youths at Senapati Bazar yesterday.
According to a report, some youth detained the owner and handyman of the vehicle MN01-5248 and left behind the driver . Later, the owner and the handyman were released after negotiation, the report added.
