KSA for settlement of border disputes

The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), central committee, Tuesday took to the streets of Diphu, protesting the lackluster approach of the state government in settling the longstanding land dispute of the district with neighbouring Nagaland state and Nagoan district.
The KSA, AISA, NSP and KNCA jointly submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Assam. The KSA and its allies requested the to solve the inter district border dispute of Karbi Anglong along with interstate border dispute of Assam. Appealed for payment of adequate compensation and resettlement of victims of border clash and to expedite the process of overall economic and social development in bordering areas of Karbi Anglong.
Further, to find an amicable settlement to the inter district border disagreement between Karbi Anglong and Nagoan and opening of Police centres along the bordering areas.
Also, urged the state government to adopt measures to stop the ongoing illegal land encroachment at No. 2 Long Kathar, Khanduli and other places by Naga and other settlers and to take initiative to evict the illegitimate settlers from Karbi Anglong.
