72-hour Karbi road blockade

Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills, the Autonomous State Demand Committee (Kanchasdcom), Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Karbi Riso Adorbar (KRA) and Karbi So-Arlo Amei (KARSA) have jointly called for 72-hour road blockade along National Highway 36 and 39, passing through Karbi Anglong, from September 1, 5a.m. to September 4, 5 a.m. KSA publicity secretary James Terang, on behalf of all their allies, said that the road blockade was being imposed in support of a new autonomous state under Article 244 (A). However, medical services, examinations, water supply and press have been exempted from the preview of the 72-hour blockade. Meanwhile, the Diphu branch of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON), in connection with the impending celebration of Krishna Janmastami and Nanda Utsav along with the Vyas Puja Mahotsav on September 2 and 3, has fervently requested KAASDCOM and KSA to exempt the devotees from the preview of the bandh.
